Role Overview

The Category Associate Manager for Packaging is responsible for developing and executing category procurement strategies. This individual will monitor, analyze and execute procurement initiatives and ensure delivery against targets for financial performance, quality, compliance and innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Sourcing Strategies and Cost Savings: Manage and analyze company sourcing need and develop procurement and contracting strategies. Includes preparation/review and recommendation of cost analysis, negotiation strategy and balanced scorecard for acquiring necessary works, goods, and services on a category basis. Perform risk management for key purchases, contracts, and agreements. Formulate effective contingency plan on the supply of materials/service to guarantee business continuity.
  2. Contract Management: Ensure that all purchases are compliant to company policies and procedures and that our regional or global scale is leveraged and value fully maximized.
  3. Business Stakeholder Management: Ensure that the sourcing strategies support the business requirements. Develops and maintain relationship with senior management, local and global partners.
  4. Supplier Management: Identify and engage the right suppliers with the right capabilities to support the business requirements and are compliant to company and government regulations where applicable.Monitor performance and conduct performance improvement plans when necessary. Maintain key supplier relationship and develop structure of supplier engagement.
  5. Compliance: Ensure that all purchasing transactions are compliant to company policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or relative majors is required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in Procurement Packaging Category
  • Solid experience in Procurement areas of focus such as Strategic Sourcing, Spend and Category Management and Supplier Management. Ability to prioritize requests, propose cost effective solutions and alternatives when necessary.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills.
