This role in summary

As an Analyst in Studio Engineer, you will work with a senior member of the Studio Engineering team to partner with Engineering, Manufacturing and Brand Studio Design staff across all product categories. We will look to you to partner in the development of great-looking, innovative products that are feasible from an engineering and manufacturing standpoint. The role demands consistency across product categories and an ability to work with others to develop engineering solutions that support operational excellence across all products and that our customers will ultimately prize. 
We expect you to be aware of technological advancements in materials and processes and have the ability to propose and champion innovative solutions and ideas. You will also keep a clear focus on Craftsmanship in all product feasibility discussions and decisions.

Your responsibilities will include

● Create Creo Aesthetic models and master assemblies (with embedded ‘Class A’ surfaces) that capture the design intent for handoff to engineering departments.
● Influence and assist in resolving 
structural, mechanical, and/or electrical configurations.
● Influence and assist in affecting a convergence on final design approaches.
● Integrate design intent, engineering specifications, and marketing requests into product designs.
● Influence and assist in resolving manufacturability, cost, and aesthetic issues.
● Influence and assist in providing expertise for engineering feasibility, together with the industrial design team, and technology team.
● Participate in product/process critiques, with regard to engineering feasibility.
● Influence and assist in the studio engineering activity for the designated project.
● Support and assist the Industrial Designers with the development of products.
● Influence and assist in the construction of major design layouts, including packaging and human factor information
● Grow and maintain effective partnerships between design and internal process partners.
● Assist with tracking all issues on projects through the design process.
● Assist in the gathering and distribution of technical data, guidelines and Standards.
 
Supported the build of models and showed properties with technical expertise.
● Establish a network with internal process partners.
● Establish or improve internal development processes.
● Engineering support for improvement recommendations regarding Craftsmanship.

Minimum requirements

● Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6+ years of engineering experience & an Engineering Design Certificate 
● Experience with 3D modeling utilizing Creo Parametric.
● Experience working with industrial designers, engineers, and vendors in new product development.
● Experience in steel fabrication (folded, stamped, 
machined and cast steel parts) and plastic production processes (injection, co-injection, two-shot injection molding, in-mold laminates, blow molding and vacuum forming, plastic vibration welding).
● The ability to 
communicate fluently in English

Preferred skills and experiences

● Ability to participate and influence product/process critiques within Studio teams.
● Ability to create multiple technically feasible solutions in upholding aesthetic product direction. 
● Basic understanding of craftsmanship and its application to the product.
● Capability of creating advanced 
mathematical surfaces in the design of aesthetic components, ensuring design cost and manufacture parameters adherence.
● Share and/or own the responsibility for studio engineering activities on multiple projects providing technical leadership and inputs from engineering and manufacturing departments.
● Experience in steel fabrication (folded, stamped, 
machined and cast steel parts) and plastic production processes (injection, co-injection, two-shot injection molding, in-mold laminates, blow molding and vacuum forming, plastic vibration).
