Senior Wordpress Development Specialist (100% WFH)

Position Overview

We are seeking to partner with a highly skilled and experienced Web Developer to support and enhance our diverse range of client websites. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, and related technologies, enabling them to maintain, customize, and develop complex web solutions tailored to our clients' unique needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

WordPress Development & Maintenance

  • Develop, maintain, and customize WordPress sites, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Familiarity with WordPress database structure and ability to interact directly when necessary.
  • Utilize Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or Toolset for creating Custom Post Types (CPTs) and custom fields to expedite development.

Page Builders Proficiency

  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with major WordPress page builders including Elementor, WP Bakery, Bricks, DIVI, etc.
  • Ability to work with Gutenberg and various custom WordPress themes, demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
  • Competence in reading and comprehending existing codebases to maintain and enhance sites developed by others.

WooCommerce Expertise

  • Extensive experience with WooCommerce, including installation, maintenance, customization, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to handle complex WooCommerce setups such as modified subscriptions, customized exports, and integrations with other plugins.
  • Experience with WooCommerce Memberships and integrating Gravity Forms as product addons.

Custom Plugin & Theme Development

  • Proficient in building custom plugins and themes from scratch when solutions do not already exist.
  • Ability to understand, modify, and maintain custom-built solutions, even those not originally developed by your team.

PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery Proficiency

  • Strong command of PHP, enabling efficient problem-solving and custom development.
  • High proficiency in HTML and CSS, with a focus on:
  • Customizing and utilizing static code effectively.
  • Targeting specific elements via CSS to implement design changes and resolve issues.
  • Fixing CSS bugs as part of routine maintenance tasks.
  • In-depth understanding of jQuery is a must.
  • Competence in JavaScript, with familiarity in modern frameworks like React or Vue being a plus.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new libraries and technologies as needed (e.g., developing a custom QR code generator without prior experience).

API Integration

  • Familiarity with various APIs and the ability to adapt to and integrate unfamiliar APIs with minimal guidance.

Development Tools & Practices

  • Experience with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SEO tools like RankMath and implementing schema.org schemas effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain custom directory sites with dynamic content loops and tags integrated into dynamic schema.

Project-Specific Experience

  • Experience with complex setups such as:
  • Custom WooCommerce exports and manual export functionalities via WordPress plugins.
  • Membership systems using WooCommerce and Gravity Forms with custom automations and email integrations.
  • Advanced Gravity Forms implementations, including GravityFlow, for specialized applications.
  • Custom WooCommerce implementations for specialized products, including dynamic form field population based on user input and hidden CPTs for account management.
