<strong>Overview<br><br></strong>The Associate Director, Medical Communications & Publications for Early Asset Programs will help shape and execute Medical Affairs strategic objectives for specific Alnylam disease areas. Through strategic alignment, the Associate Director, Medical Communications & Publications will be responsible for planning and execution of activities such as publication planning, publication steering committees, congress presence, and medical communication content development. As part of execution of the Alnylam strategy, the Associate Director, Medical Communications & Publications will work closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations and Commercial functions.<br><br>The role of the Associate Director, Medical Communications & Publications is to provide guidance, expertise, and strategic direction on all aspects of program-specific publications and communications strategies. This is a highly visible role that will interface across levels and functional areas throughout the organization. The candidate will have a proactive and innovative approach, the ability to build strong professional relationships in cross-functional environments and a flexible, hands-on nature that works with a high sense of purposeful urgency.<br><br><ul><li>This a hybrid role based in our Cambridge, MA or Philadelphia, PA office.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Responsible to develop & lead the Communications and Publication strategy</li><li>Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive global publications plan to support medical strategies, provide ideas for generating manuscripts of scientific and clinical interests, and lead the implementation and maintenance of this plan</li><li>Establish and lead publications steering committee, to support ideas generation for publications plan (where PSC is required)</li><li>Lead on the Global Medical Communications activities across Medical to support congress presence and content development (scientific narrative, scientific platform, symposium, etc)</li><li>Foster relationships with key external thought leaders to aid development of key publications and medical communications deliverables</li><li>Represent Alnylam at medical meetings, conferences, advisory boards, outreach meetings at key institutions, and in interactions with thought leaders as needed</li><li>Participate in long-range planning as needed; develop and manage project plans, assess resource needs, and develop and implement processes and standards</li><li>Manage Medical Communications/Publications agency, including project plans and budget<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>PhD or PharmD/MD with 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, or medical education company</li><li>Prior medical affairs, medical communications, publications, agency and/or KOL management experience preferred</li><li>Team management experience a plus<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge And Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Knowledge of GPP 2022, ICMJE and other applicable publications-related guidelines and industry rules along with medical and clinical terminology knowledge</li><li>Experience using publications management software (e.g. iEnvision)</li><li>Experience with Medical Communications strategies, understanding of omnichannel</li><li>Excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills</li><li>Proven planning and organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities; attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining professional relationships</li><li>Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries</li><li>Efficient management of all aspects of Medical Communications/Publications agency</li><li>Clear alignment with Alnylam Core Values<br><br></li></ul><strong>U.S. Pay Range<br><br></strong><strong>$167,000.00 - $226,000.00<br><br></strong>The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
