In Pfizer Research & Development Digital, we enable our R&D partners to accelerate drug development and clinical trials through digital products and solutions. Within R&D Digital, the Veeva Platform & Services function is responsible for defining the strategy and leading the delivery of the Veeva product suite to end users

As the VEEVA CoE Veeva Platform Technical Lead, you will be building the foundation on the Veeva Platform. You will lead the Veeva Platform Services and will be responsible and accountable for technology architecture, design, best practices, demand prioritization and end-to-end solution delivery for projects, releases and enhancements with best-in-class quality at enterprise scale across Pfizer R&D, including the focus on UI, Mobile, Tools, Veeva ID, etc. You will manage and lead a team of platform and solutions specialists to lead solution architecture, system administration, security, and procedures across the Veeva Vault Platform.

To excel in this role, you should have strong system architecture knowledge and experience leading development teams to drive on time, on budget completion of technical projects with required quality. Effective relationship skills are crucial for handling various stakeholder groups such as developers, R&D Digital Leadership, Client Partners, and the R&D business community to ensure that solutions address business and user needs. Additionally, this role will serve as an advisor to senior leadership and management regarding investment decisions and demand prioritization for a compliant platform.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

Engage with Customers and Stakeholders: Forge strong relationships to gain a deep understanding of requirements and deliver solutions using Agile/SAFe methodologies.

Lead Solutions Delivery: Direct your team in the design, development, testing, and delivery of high-value Veeva Platform solutions and focus on ensuring high availability, platform best practices, building foundational AI solutions for Veeva platform, analytics, reporting and support automated testing

Cross Vault Governance : Collaborate with Cross vault team and business stakeholders to drive cross vault content and data governance

Provide Technical Leadership: Offer expertise in architecture and design to ensure robust and scalable solutions, collaborating with Digital product teams, Enterprise Architecture, AIDA and functional stakeholders.

Strategize with Senior Management: Craft strategic proposals for investment in the Veeva Platform, influencing long-term technology roadmaps.

Mentor and Develop Teams: Manage team capacity, hire new talent, and provide mentorship to ensure a high-performing team.

Prioritize Demands: Review and approve project prioritization based on business value and ROI, while escalating budget and resource needs to higher-level leadership for approval.

Navigate Complex Situations: Tackle the challenges of change management across Pfizer R&D, leading engagements with IT and business stakeholders to drive clarity and consensus.

Champion Agile Leadership: As a Technical lead, gather stakeholder feedback and lead platform delivery following Agile/SAFe principles, often working directly with cross-functional teams.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ Years experience in Application Services development, delivery, and stakeholder management in the Veeva Platform space, or related areas or Master's Degree and 7+ years of experience or PHD and 5+ years of experience.

6+ years progressive experience in Veeva implementation, program management, business analysis, and full life-cycle Cloud implementation

Extensive experience as an information technology professional in roles such as a software architect and/or developer, systems engineer, computer engineer, engineering lead, technical team lead, infrastructure lead.

Proven experience in leading platform strategies and implementations, preferably within the life sciences industry.

Experience managing teams including the financials of contract or colleague resources.

Deep understanding of the Veeva Vault Platform and its capabilities. Familiarity with life sciences industry standards and practices.

Knowledge of regulatory impacts (GxP, SOX, etc.) on data processes in the Life Sciences industry.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical R&D or regulated environment with demonstrated capabilities managing large scale, enterprise software requirements definition, designs and implementations.

Strong expertise in Platform maintenance and delivery for Veeva including Continuous monitoring, Engineering standards, High Availability, DR & BCP, platform best practices

Proven leadership in Veeva platform foundation including platform best practices, building foundational AI, Analytics, reporting, automated testing and user experience augmentation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with indirect resources geographically distributed.

Demonstrated progressive experience successfully managing software development projects
