We are now seeking an experienced Call Center Intake Specialist to join our team, working on an evening shift and weekends in a fully remote capacity. Job Overview The Call Center Intake Specialist will be responsible for providing crisis support, coordinating care, and screening individuals for BJC Behavioral Health services. This role requires a strong understanding of crisis support, independent work skills, and general knowledge of DMH programming. The ideal candidate will have experience working with behavioral health clients, be proficient in technology, and possess excellent communication skills. As a key member of our Call Center team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients receive timely and respectful support. Key Responsibilities Provide crisis support to callers in need, dispatching Mobile Crisis teams as necessary Coordinate care for active clients, scheduling appointments and providing community referrals as needed Screen individuals for BJC Behavioral Health services, completing initial psychosocial assessments and treatment plans Engage individuals and families to form trusting relationships, gathering accurate information to formulate realistic treatment goals Collaborate with team members to build positive working relationships within and across the service system Provide brief evidence-based therapies to address problems that can be resolved through clients' own actions and/or thought processes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology) 2-5 years of experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably in a call center or crisis support role A valid Missouri LPC or LCSW Clinical Mental Health License Proficiency in technology, including Teams, Outlook, and electronic medical records (EMRs) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with crisis support and behavioral health clients Knowledge of DMH programming and services Training in evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, DBT, or Motivational Engagement Experience working in a fast-paced call center environment Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong crisis support and assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate individuals' observed and stated symptoms Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage individuals and families in a non-threatening, empathetic manner Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make recommendations based on evaluations Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At BJC HealthCare, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
