About the position

The Caregiver Navigator position is a part-time role within the Division of Family and Child Services (DFCS) aimed at supporting prospective caregivers through the approval process. This position involves working in a remote environment, primarily answering inquiries from caregivers and providing essential information and referrals. The role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining communication with caregivers throughout their onboarding journey.

Responsibilities

  • Answers the Caregiver Inquiry and Warmline in a professional manner.
  • ,
  • Maintains contact with prospective caregivers through the onboarding and approval process.
  • ,
  • Tracks caregivers through the approval process.
  • ,
  • Processes inquiries received via 877-210-KIDS inquiry line.
  • ,
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current foster, adoptive or kinship caregiver in good standing.
  • ,
  • Former foster, adoptive or kinship caregiver who closed in good standing.
  • ,
  • Five (5) years of experience as a foster, adoptive or kinship caregiver.
  • ,
  • Three (3) years of experience in a customer service setting communicating information.
  • ,
  • Strong customer service background.
  • ,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • ,
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • ,
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
