The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Laundry Worker 2. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loads, operates and unloads commercial washers, extractors, dryers and other equipment in an institutional laundry.

• Sorts and weighs soiled clothing and linen for proper washing classification. Identifies and treats various stains appropriately. Determines formula to use for proper cleaning and rinsing.

• Performs minor maintenance on laundry equipment and monitors equipment for maintenance needs.

• Cleans work area and maintains supply inventory and other work records.

• May assist with picking up soiled and delivering clean laundry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:

• Policies and procedures established for the work unit

• Occupational hazards and safety precautions in laundry operation

• Stain removal processes

• Washroom operations, policies, and procedures

• Textiles and fabrics and their reaction to soaps, bleaches, water temperature, etc.

Skills In:

• Operating commercial laundry equipment

Ability to:

• Communicate verbally and in writing

• Perform mathematical calculations

• Establish and maintain work relationships

• Apply the principles and practices of leadership and work management

• Life up to 50 pounds

• Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.

• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.

• Employment may be contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/ physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

• Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
