What We Want

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Specialist I to join our team. This role is responsible for creating and building our online community by identifying and scheduling content for Texas A&M University through various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media, excellent communication skills, and a knack for creating compelling content that resonates with our audience.

Community Engagement and Social Listening:

Assist in monitoring our online community across all official university social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and others.
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our community engagement and social listening strategies remain effective.

Analytics and Report:

Assist in tracking and analyzing key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of content.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications.
One year of experience in social media management.
Familiarity with social media scheduling software (e.g., Sprout Social).
Experience in social media support for non-profit or higher education organizations.
Social media certification or digital certification (Accredited university or professional organization).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of social media best practices.
