Switching Order Management (SOM) Engineer – Energy & Utility Domain

We are seeking an experienced Switching Order Management (SOM) Engineer with a strong background in the Energy & Utility domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with ADMS, OMS, SCADA, Distribution Operations, and utility switching processes, along with expertise in supporting electric utility control center operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and support Switching Order Management (SOM) solutions for electric utility operations.
  • Develop, validate, and execute switching orders for planned maintenance and emergency restoration activities.
  • Work closely with Control Center Operators, Distribution Engineers, and Field Operations teams to ensure safe and efficient switching operations.
  • Support and maintain Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Outage Management System (OMS), and SCADA applications.
  • Analyze electrical network topology and ensure accurate switching sequences.
  • Monitor outage events and assist with power restoration and grid reliability initiatives.
  • Coordinate with GIS, Asset Management, and Distribution Operations teams to maintain accurate network models.
  • Perform application testing, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Ensure compliance with utility safety procedures and operational standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and support continuous process improvements.

Pay: $28.84 - $34.73 per hour
