This store design position will be part of the Amazon Worldwide Retail Growth & Development. We are an exciting, fast-moving business unit, where everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. You are the right person for this job if you are a creative problem solver with curiosity and drive for learning and a passion for customers. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently drive multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration. We are looking for people who want to join an ambitious, innovative and customer obsessed program.

Working across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs
Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners

Responsible for building data driven scope of work with internal stake holders, focused on servicing operating stores
Responsible for development of FF&E and Décor packages

Drive and create Schematic Design Packages
Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts
Manage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle
Provide Construction Administrative support as needed
Archive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings
Obtain landlord approvals per lease requirements
Review and approves submittals and shop drawings
Demonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends
Demonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats
The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
The ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment

Our customer-obsessed design approach focuses on creating seamless shopping experiences for both in-store and online customers, while ensuring our operations teams can work safely and efficiently during and after remodels. We specialize in executing complex renovations that elevate the Amazon experience across our established store network.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in architecture or interior design
5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience
Intermediate Revit skills required

Preferred Qualifications

Grocery experience strongly preferred
Architectural or Interior Design FF&E background preferred
Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, SketchUp, SmartSheet
Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferred
Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish
Ability to manage change though multiple projects in various phases of design
Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment
