Shift Type: Rotating nights (schedule varies by assignment, typically includes nights and weekends), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
  • Assess, triage, and prioritize patients quickly in a fast-paced ER environment
  • Administer medications and interventions according to ACLS/PALS/NRP protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary ED team
  • Perform emergency procedures and support resuscitation efforts as needed
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
  • Maintain competency by completing required exams and skills checklists
  • Contribute to a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Current RN license (able to verify via Nursys) — must be valid for practice in NJ or eligible for reciprocity
  • Minimum Emergency Room experience (travel ER experience preferred)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications
  • NIHSS certification for stroke assessment
  • DCI/BVP certification as listed in the checklist
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screen (10-panel minimum), and fit testing
  • Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
  • Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and adaptability under pressure

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Triage and rapid assessment in emergency settings
  • Advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support algorithms
  • Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization (NRP)
  • Stroke assessment using NIHSS
  • Rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology knowledge
  • IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
  • Clear, calm communication with patients, families, and the care team
  • Time management and prioritization in a high-acuity environment
