POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager is accountable for streamlining and optimizing overall warehouse operations, ensuring accurate reconciliation of physical and system inventories for GEM. Collaborating with the Director of Operations and the Director of US Warehousing, the WM will spearhead the development, monitoring, and upkeep of efficient processes and procedures pertinent to warehouse management.

This position will manage the San Pedro warehouse as well as assist with the Los Angeles warehouse when needs of the business arise.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and enhance warehousing and facilities practices focusing on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to policy-enforcement and decision-making to drive productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of GEM’s warehouse operations.
Supervise and coordinate facility maintenance and repair activities to ensure safety, security, and proper upkeep.
Lead projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and security standards and governmental regulations.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of fleet, machinery, equipment, and systems, ensuring ongoing upkeep and timely repairs.
Prepare operational progress reports and schedules to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Manage and enforce SOPs for inbound, outbound, and production flow.
Manage product inventories and organizational resources, ensuring precise reporting of inventory levels.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Serve as the key liaison for GEM with donors or volunteers within the warehouse premises.
Lead the implementation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Recruit, mentor, and train warehouse staff.
Identify, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators for the organization and staff.
Act as a positive ambassador for the GEM brand and its mission.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years of warehouse management experience.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficient in safety programs.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable, insured personal vehicle required.
Strong computer proficiency, including inventory control systems (database management preferred, WMS experience a plus).
Strong analytical skills, business intuition, and work ethic.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with additional hours during relief or disaster response activations.
Environment: Warehouse and office setting with occasional work in inclement weather; moderate to loud noise levels.
Travel: Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, events, or disaster response may be required.
OSHA Standards: Lifting requirements up to 75 pounds; loads heavier than 75 pounds require two or more individuals for lifting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
