Job Overview:

We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Intern position.

Reporting to the Assembly Manager, the Assembly Intern provides the best possible support by assisting with all aspects of factory planning and engineering and helps to ensure that the ongoing plant expansion runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist areas such as Trim, Chassis, End-of-Line or Quality Assurance in Production

  • Process documentation

  • Feasibility analysis of optimization projects

  • Optimize daily processes with new ideas

  • Overview and updated, detailed schedule

  • Coordinate project steps with plant operations

  • Read and interpret drawings when needed

  • Assist and lead meetings

  • Taking meeting minutes and KPI editing

  • Process optimization of production line processes

  • Improve quality transparency by creating dashboards

  • Time studies and analysis of bottlenecks

  • Process analysis and process improvement ideas and implementation

  • Project planning using Microsoft planner

  • Time studies and poke yoke implementations

  • Assist where needed by the department or other areas

Skills:

  • Preferred studies in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information System Engineering or other related/similar fields

  • Experience with Information Systems
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and methodologies
  • Understanding of OEE and manufacturing KPI's
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Power-BI and related software
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in process optimization and problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business or relevant degree is required to participate in the intern program.

The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans after Germany.
