Job Title : Medical Coding Education Associate (JR176657) Hybrid 1 : Requires in-office 1–2 days per week while providing flexibility for remote work. Alternate locations considered if within a commuting distance. Hybrid work policy: Candidates outside a reasonable commuting distance are not considered unless accommodation is granted. Responsibilities Engages with providers and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure proactive collaboration in reviewing coding and documentation guidelines. Examine medical records and various documentation to ensure the precision of code assignment. Provide providers with comprehensive feedback on current‐year coding guidelines and industry expertise, facilitated through phone and email correspondences to ensure that the provider understands coding and documentation guidelines for the applicable concept(s). Execute a detailed review of medical records to confirm whether the documentation justifies the level of service provided. Complete chart reviews and deliver detailed education based on the records received. Research, validate, and stay abreast of medical coding and billing issues, trends, and changes in regulations and industry standards to recommend concepts. Conduct analyses of claims data to bolster the creation of educational concepts. Launch education concepts. Minimum Requirements Requires an AA/AS degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience working with ICD‐9/10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding; or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background. Requires current, valid, active, and unrestricted: RHIA certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator and/or RHIT certification as a Registered Health Information Technician and/or CCS as a Certified Coding Specialist and/or CPC certified professional coder. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Experiences Professional coding experience within managed care or provider practices strongly preferred. Experience auditing professional medical records strongly preferred. Experience educating and communicating with Physicians and non‐Physician practitioners.
