About Us AUQ is a conversion focused SEO agency that primarily works with SaaS companies. We're a fully remote, global team that services about 20 clients in the USA. We are looking for an expert-level freelance GA4 & GTM Specialist to help us architect and implement sophisticated analytics solutions that go far beyond standard reporting. The Role This is a freelance, project based role on an as needed basis, but we're hoping to build a long term relation ship with someone that we can rely on for analytics projects. As an SEO agency our biggest challenge is setting up proper attribution for first-click visits and this analytics role will be pivotal in helping us showing SEO's value to our clients. Location / Timezone Your physical location is not important, but you need to be able to work North American hours as that's where most of the team and clients are based. Key Projects & Responsibilities • Data Integrity & Architecture • Diagnose and systematically reduce the (direct) / (none) traffic bucket to ensure accurate source attribution. • Implement and validate seamless cross-domain and sub-domain tracking for unified user journey analysis. • Architect and implement Server-Side GTM (ssGTM) to improve data accuracy, site performance, and future-proof our clients' analytics. • Advanced Event & Conversion Tracking • Write and deploy custom JavaScript via GTM to push complex user interactions (e.g., interactions with non-standard web components) into the Data Layer. • Set up tracking to identify user drop-off points within multi-step forms, providing critical data for CRO. • Implement tracking for various authentication methods, including social logins (Google Sign-In, SSO) and attribute them to conversions. • Reporting & Attribution • Develop advanced attribution reports and models that accurately showcase the interplay between organic search, paid media, social, and email channels. • Build custom GA4 explorations and automated Looker Studio dashboards to visualize complex conversion funnels and user pathways. • Architect a data flow to connect GA4 user data with client CRMs, enabling full-funnel ROI analysis from initial website visit to closed deal. Required Experience & Skills • Proven, hands-on expertise with advanced GA4 and Google Tag Manager configurations. • Strong proficiency in JavaScript for use in GTM custom tags and Data Layer manipulation. • Demonstrable experience implementing server-side GTM (ssGTM). • Deep understanding of attribution modeling and analyzing multi-channel funnels. • Expert-level proficiency in Looker Studio for creating insightful, automated dashboards. • Ability to work independently and solve complex technical tracking problems. Nice-to-Have Experience • Direct experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) principles. • Familiarity with the analytics side of CRMs like HubSpot and/or Salesforce.
