We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our construction team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience working with contracting companies, not consultants, and be capable of handling both pre-contract and post-contract commercial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract Duties

  • Take off quantities from issued drawings and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) as per the POMI method of measurement.
  • Verify BOQ quantities against drawings and identify discrepancies or additional works.
  • Respond to tender invitations, collect tender documents, and coordinate with management.
  • Prepare subcontractor packages, issue RFIs, follow up on quotations, and prepare comparison sheets.
  • Review pre-contract documents, including scope, specifications, and requirements.
  • Conduct rate analysis with support from the Project Manager and update BOQ pricing.
  • Prepare quotation comparison reports for management.
  • Manage tender submissions including tender bonds, commercial offers, programs, and required documentation.
  • Review and comment on draft contract agreements before award.

Post-Contract Duties

  • Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and preambles.
  • Monitor and track material quantities received, issued, and consumed at site.
  • Prepare monthly Interim Payment Applications (IPA) and coordinate with the client for certification.
  • Prepare variation claims and compile all supporting documentation.
  • Communicate approved variations or changes to subcontractors and ensure proper documentation.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, rebates, and payment terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Verify subcontractor and supplier invoices for payment processing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support financial optimization efforts.
  • Arrange commercial meetings, prepare minutes of meetings, and manage contractual correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of QS experience with a construction contracting company
  • Strong knowledge of POMI measurement, BOQ preparation, tendering, and post-contract activities.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to join immediately or at short notice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
