Buyers Edge Platform is one of the fastest-growing companies in the Foodservice Technology industry, seeking a Sr. Food Safety Specialist to maintain and coordinate food safety documents and traceability data. This role involves leading supplier onboarding, participating in audits, and promoting growth within the food safety department through project execution.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and coordinate food safety platforms to maintain document control
  • Be responsible for traceability data oversight and program maintenance per SOPs for clients that require regular traceability initiatives
  • Assist or lead traceability projects as well as directly supporting management and directors on traceability initiatives
  • Assist and be responsible for maintaining Supplier and Distributor onboarding
  • Assist or lead recall management improvement projects
  • Assist or lead document management improvement projects
  • Responsible for filing emails and documents according to SOPs
  • Assist Food Safety leaders during Recalls/Market Withdrawals
  • Possibly assist with Technical audit reviews and second party audits at Supplier or Distributor locations
  • Attend and participate in department and company meetings
  • Maintain strong, positive, professional relationships with Partners, Distributors, and Customers
  • Maintain professional communication with all contacts within and outside of Buyers Edge Platform, Fresh Services Division

Skills

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance role, preferably in fresh produce. Positions in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, and/or related fields
  • Knowledge of GFSI Standards and Audit Schemes
  • Competency in one or more GFSI audit scheme, Primus, SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000
  • Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations
  • Knowledge of GS1 standards
  • General supply chain knowledge
  • Computer skills: Competency in MS Office including proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and achieve agreed upon goals
  • Business and professional acumen
  • Desire to obtain more experience in the area of Food Safety and Produce Food Safety
  • Excellent communication skills
