About the job

The Sales Manager – MICE is responsible for proactively acquiring, developing and managing local and international Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) business. The role ensures comprehensive coverage of the assigned MICE portfolio, driving revenue across meetings, events, groups and related ancillary spend. The position focuses on building long‑term, value‑based client relationships, delivering agreed revenue targets, and executing sales strategies aligned with the hotel’s commercial objectives.

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Understand, communicate and comply with all Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and hotel‑specific policies, procedures and standard operating guidelines.
  • Act in full compliance with the MOHG Code of Conduct, ensuring all business activities meet legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Support and align with the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai Human Resources strategy, learning and development initiatives.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Mandarin Oriental at all times, internally and externally.
  • Adhere to Safe, Sound and Sustainable policies and ensure responsible use of hotel systems, data and technology.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of guest, customer and colleague information.
  • Proactively acquire, develop and manage local and international MICE accounts, including corporates, event management companies, professional conference organizers, destination management companies and incentive houses.
  • Drive MICE revenue through proactive prospecting, account management, RFP participation and conversion of qualified leads.
  • Ensure maximum acceptance and competitiveness in MICE‑related RFPs in collaboration with Revenue Management and Conference & Events teams.
  • Prepare and execute account plans and sales strategies to achieve and exceed assigned targets.
  • Negotiate rates, terms and conditions for MICE and group business within approved parameters, maximizing total revenue and profitability.
  • Work closely with Conference & Events, Revenue Management, Reservations and Operations to ensure seamless conversion, contracting and delivery of events.
  • Ensure selling strategies, pricing integrity and upselling opportunities are consistently applied during negotiations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and demand patterns, identifying opportunities and risks within the MICE segment.
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting on account production, pipeline, forecasts and variances versus targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date account information within all designated sales and CRM systems.
  • Conduct site inspections, client presentations and familiarization visits as required.
  • Participate in client entertainment, trade shows, sales missions and networking events relevant to the MICE segment.
  • Support cross‑selling initiatives across the Mandarin Oriental portfolio through relevant MOHG programs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure service excellence and consistency throughout the client journey.
  • Attend and actively contribute to weekly and monthly sales meetings, providing market intelligence and customer feedback.
  • Handle client concerns or complaints in a professional manner, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Carry out any additional duties as reasonably requested by management in line with hotel operational needs.

As a Sales Manager, we expect from you to have:

  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a sales role within a luxury or five‑star hotel environment, with proven MICE sales experience.
  • Strong understanding of the MICE market, event dynamics and group business in an international context.
  • Previous Dubai experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, close business and manage complex client requirements.
  • Experience representing a hotel at trade shows, workshops and sales missions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications and hotel sales systems.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
